Our Summer Groups
We are pleased to announce that Community Counseling Services will be offering a range of mental health groups this summer. Our groups are designed to provide a supportive and safe environment for individuals who are seeking to improve their health and well-being. Our experienced counselors will guide you through each session, providing you with the tools and resources you need to manage your mental health effectively. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, or any other mental health issue, our groups are here to help. Join us this summer and take the first step towards a healthier and happier you.
Unboxed
Strength - Based group that will offer youth (11-14) the availability to connect with peers, validate each other's experiences, and discuss management of mental health using DBT.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy
There are 4 core components of DBT:
1) Mindfulness
2) Emotion Regulation
3) Distress Tolerance
4) Interpersonal Effectiveness
Proof of Action:
DBT is an evidence-based treatment modality that has a primary goal of helping individuals build a mentally healthy life by improving their ability to manage emotions

Social Skills Group
Problem Solving, Flexible thinking, and adventurous activities
Proof of Action:
POWER THINKERS uses the Superflex - Social Thinking Methodology. This methodology embraces working directly with individuals with social learning differences, difficulties, and disabilities. The curriculum is designed to promote the use of visual supports, modeling, naturalistic teaching, and self-management. Many components of the methodology fit well into the multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) and the research-based implementation framework of Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS).

Rethinking ANXIETY
Find support from others with anxiety
Learn the science about why we get anxious and how self-compassion is important to healing it
Practice meanginful activities and behaviors designed to help calm your mind.

Teen WRAP (Wellness Reaction Action Plan) Girls Group
Come discover yourself, work on staying well every day, how to best manage yourself when in crisis, and create a plan to get back to wellness.
Proof of Action:
Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) is an evidence-based manualized group intervention for illness self-management delivered in a self-help group context.
Who Qualifies:
Girls between the ages of 13 and 18

8-10 weeks

Trauma Informed Parenting
This 6 week course addresses:
Trauma 101
Understanding the effects of trauma
Understanding feeling & behaviors
Building a safe place
Connections & healing
Proof of Action:
The material used in this group is based on SAMHSA’s The National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) – Caring for Children Who Have Experienced Trauma. Combining knowledge of child development, expertise in the full range of child traumatic experience, and attention to cultural perspectives, the NCTSN serves as a national resource for developing and disseminating evidence-based interventions, trauma-informed services, and public and professional education.
Who Qualifies:
Parents with children who have experienced trauma and are part of their healing process
